Day 1 – Introduction Day – Specific Carbohydrate Diet

Dinner Looks Good - Said NO ONE!

Dinner Looks Good – Said NO ONE!

Yesterday I could introduce a new food group and I had sweet potato , which I mashed down and added my puréed carrots. I also had salmon instead of chicken.

Belly Pain

I had not even finished eating it and I was bloated and had stomach pains.

I recall the last time I introduced the first food (which was broccoli) , I was bloated. So I am not going to stress this, I do wonder if it is just the fact your stomach is adjusting to you having had nothing but the same food for 3 days.

I will put a little more in my dinner tonight and see what happens. But will also not introduce any other food for a few days.

So annoying as  I wanted to add a banana, only because I want to make banana Ice Cream with Peanut Butter!

Today my GP called me in for a Biopsy as my results from the rash came back negative. I knew this would happen , but my GP had to take this route first before he could take the biopsy.

I only have a one stitch and that should fall out soon enough.  The results are also being fast tracked so hopefully I will hear soon.

The GP nearly forgot to put on the anaesthetic !  He was like ” I am sure something is missing” and the nurse was yes Dr “You have forgotten to put on the anaesthetic” !!

Made us laugh out loud – can you imagine the bloody pain if he had got started!

I am totally impressed with him though , he has been amazing and working through this in a logical way.

Today he has agreed to taper my steroids so I can see what happens when I come off them. If things get worse he will change me to Asacol. Which I expect also.

Order myself an advanced multi-strain of live bacteria as there is some thought this helps with UC , I have used them in an acute phase before , and what with all the steroid taking , I feel it is wise to get some good gut health going on.

Bio-Kult are the UK brand I would recommend, along with Bio Care.
